Start your permanent makeup training today!

Permanent makeup is revolutionizing the beauty industry! Also called permanent cosmetics, dermapigmentation or micropigmentation, permanent makeup is a form of cosmetic tattooing in which color pigments are chosen and inserted into the skin to look like and enhance everyday cosmetic makeup.

Most clients seek out permanent makeup to enhance their existing facial features; however, more recently permanent makeup has been utilized to help burn survivors, cancer patients, and others who have tissue damage. Common permanent makeup procedures include eyelash enhancement, eyeliner, lip liner, eyebrow hair simulation, and full lip color.

Our permanent makeup program allows you to fully embrace your creative and technical skills in a growing field. In just three weekends, you’ll learn the latest permanent make up application techniques including:

  • Coloring
  • Eyebrow Hair Simulation
  • Eyeliner
  • Lip Liner
  • Medical Tattooing

At Florida Academy, our permanent makeup program is designed to give students the right training for today’s job market. We believe hands-on education is crucial when learning how to provide outstanding services and working with clients. That’s why our program blends the learning of the fundamentals of permanent makeup with time in the student clinic where you will work on real patients. Our small class sizes ensure that you will receive the personalized attention you deserve!

Over the past several years, the demand for skin care treatments and services has skyrocketed. According to O*Net OnLine, the demand for skincare specialists is projected to grow by 20% in Florida between 2014 and 2024.* This is much higher than the expected growth for skincare specialist positions in the United States, which is 8%.

Permanent makeup techniques are required for a variety of reasons. People are looking to not only make their daily makeup routine easier but also to help them recover from serious health conditions or traumas. Permanent makeup is now used to help burn victims, cancer patients, and people who have arthritis or conditions like Parkinson’s disease that can compromise their ability to do their own makeup.  Permanent makeup artists often enjoy a great deal of personal satisfaction from the impact they can make on their patients.

Permanent makeup and micropigmentation is a noninvasive treatment that can restore self-esteem and improve someone’s life. These types of procedures can minimize the effects of a traumatic experience and help reduce the psychological effects of invasive treatments.

Successful permanent makeup artists have a high attention to detail and strong communication skills. You will be working with clients on a daily basis to understand their needs and personal style. You will also be required to explain the details of the procedures you are performing along with the expected results. Some of these procedures can be quite lengthy and require a great attention span to perform. As a permanent makeup professional, you should be prepared to talk with patients who are undergoing complicated treatments.

Permanent make up artists work in wide variety of settings including day spas, medi-spas, physician offices, dermatologists offices, beauty salons, and tattoo parlors. In addition, many choose to start their own business and can enjoy a flexible schedule and excellent work-life balance.  In fact more than 83% of permanent make up artists report being self-employed.**
