Students learn foundational electrical skills for residential and commercial construction, including electrical theory, wiring, raceways, devices, panels, pumps, water heaters and HVAC-related electrical components. The program also covers construction drawings, electrical symbols and how to reference and use the National Electrical Code.
Yes. The program includes both lecture and lab instruction, with training designed to help students practice assembling electrical systems and working with wiring, devices, raceways and other components used in residential and commercial electrical construction.
Students have the opportunity to earn NCCER Core, NCCER Electrical Level 1 and the OSHA 10-Hour Survey Card. Upon successful completion of the program, students also earn a Florida Academy Electrical Assistant Diploma. NCCER credentials are nationally recognized and portable within the skilled trades, helping students document the foundational electrical training and skill levels they have successfully completed.
