Earn a High School Degree or GED
You can start preparing for a career as an HVAC technician position in high school by taking vocational tech classes, shop classes in plumbing, basic electronics, or electric work, and studying physics and math. Once you earn your high school degree or GED, so you can move on to a nationally accredited HVAC/R Technology program, such as the one at Florida Academy.
Complete Tech Training
Do your research and find an HVAC training program that best suits your needs in terms of cost, time demands, and location. Key Certifications
As part of the training, you’ll be prepared to take the EPA Section 608 Universal exam. This certification will give you a competitive edge in the job market. Additionally, upon successful completion of the program, students have the ability to earn the following certificates: R410A Safety Certification, OSHA 10-Hour Department of Labor Card.
